Healthcare Services in India : Really so bad ??? Let's not underestimate the quality of all hospitals , just because they are Indian

"No Indian political leader should go abroad for treatment. It is an insult to India's health services.”

"Let them go, but let them pay for it themselves.", says my cousin Anna KV Chellappa in reply.

This discussion has triggered the burried creativity for my current Blogpost. Even I want to append my honest, straightforward reply, to this tweet, and here goes my reply :

" We have equally good Corporate Hospitals, in India Today, with world-class healthcare services, and I have closely witnessed, and experienced this, in & out personally. And our politicians too are very well aware of this. It's just that, they want to go abroad for a joyous holiday, for a pleasure trip, for freaking out, in lovely overseas destinations, that the trip is made in the name of healthcare. And we do know the obvious reason. No expenses from their own pockets. 

Some of the overseas destinations, are simply mesmerizing, in both scenic beauty, and man-made wonders, no doubt. But our own country too has, some of the finest holiday destinations, if we care to explore our unexplored country.

Girish Ramanathan, who has wandered in the extreme interiors of the awe-inspiring Himalayas, not just once, but several times, during his adventurous treks, can any day explain this, better than me, fully supporting my views.

I too have stayed across the length & breadth of this vast, expansive country. And there are truly, even small villages, that are awe-inspiring in their scenic beauty, and natural wonders. 

I have very closely seen, some of the finest Corporate Hospitals of India, my better-half being a Medical Man, and these hospitals are truly world-class. No wonder, we have excellent medical tourism, at almost its peak these days, in this vibrant, fun-filled country.

India is perhaps not as lacking, as we are made to think and made to believe, due to the Colonial rule in our country perhaps, for 300 continuous years. This past history of India, has only developed slave mentality in us, and the snobbish attitude, that only Western countries can provide the best things of life, shunning the desire in the citizens, for living in our own country, however sacred be the living environment, in our Motherland. Our metros are no doubt badly polluted & unusually crowded. But some of the extreme interiors of India, are truly Great God's own country.

I have nothing against Western countries. We have a lot to learn from them. But at the same time, we Easterners also have a lot in us, for them to grab. Allopathy can do miracles, some real incredible miracles, jointly with Ayurveda, Siddha Vaidyam, Ashtanga Yoga , Mantra Yoga, Sankeerthan Yoga & Hatha Yoga.
