A couple of days back, one Palaghat Maami in our Apartment Complex, who was originally a domicile of New Delhi, and now having Bangalore as her Summer-Capital, like the Governors of British Raj in India, came running to our house, before dawn, and woke us up urgently, with our alarming, annoying, brain-shattering, blessed calling-bell.

We thought, there was some life-threatening medical-emergency, and that Maami perhaps needed some help, as she is an old lady, my mother's age.

On opening the blessed antique door, we were amused to realize, that we were absolutely wrong. She had an emergency, but a very different kind of emergency. Nowhere even distantly near medical. But without a solution to her grave problem, she had bright chances of Heart -Attack, Stroke, Brain-Hemorrhage etc. 🤣🤣 .

So anyway, it was a kind of medical-emergency only, and we decided that she was perhaps at the right place, may be not at the right time. 🤣🤣

My brilliant husband Shekhar, I mean our brilliant in-house medical-man opened the door, half sleeping, and half dreaming, but hardly awake, yawning away brilliantly on the poor lady's face, the moment she wished him a very good morning. :)Though it was not even dawn. Sun-God himself hadn't had his bed-coffee, when the desparate Maami landed up.

Palaghat Mami knew, that Appa had a massive collection of Hindu Scriptures and Tamil-Classics. Appa had the complete collection of Amarar Kalki's Blockbuster Novels as well.

After Appa's passing away in 2015, most of his books, have been shifted to my too humble apartment, as Amma felt, there presence in her house, was utter nuisance. 🤣. And, as a dutiful daughter, I gave shelter to the poor homeless books, in my already overstocked Home Library.

Anyway, my mother's loss is my gain, and I feel very prosperous, and very wise, after the merger acquisition deal. 🤣🤣

Maami had to prepare a whole bunch of girls, for fancy-dress competition, in the city, I mean the cyber-city of Bangalore.

Her theme for the competition was, Tamil Princesses of Chola, Pallava, Pandiyan, Cheran & all such 'Medieval Royal, Princely Dynasties' of Tamil Nadu. She wanted the complete collection of Kalki's Tamil Classics, for the beautiful hair-dressing ideas, for the participants of the gala event.

Only then it struck me, that Kalki's Classics, like 'Ponniyin Selvan', 'Sivakaamiyin Sapatham' etc, have a wonderful collection of Royal Tamil Princesses, with mesmerizing hairstyles, of medieval times of South India.

Maami wanted these books urgently, perhaps before sun rise, before day-break. Life threatening emergency, I could make out. Must have had sleepless nights, poor thing. I took out the Classics from the shelves, removed the thick layers of dust, and had a look at the beautiful hairstyles, myself first ; all drawn by the great Tamil artist Vinu, a man of outstanding creativity.

Wonderful indeed were the Hairstyles of those days. Even in ancient & medieval India, surprisingly, people were so fashion & beauty conscious !!!. Was indeed unbelievable !!!. And why not ?

Appa often used to say, that even our Ambaal / Goddess/ Devi of the most sacred Hinduism, is सर्वालङ्कार भूषिता, all fully decked-up for the moonlight garden-party at night. 🤣 .

We are after all worthless, unevolved ordinary humans, struggling  mortals, with the most mundane earthly-weaknesses & desires. 🤣🤣

Just thought of sharing some of the unique hairstyles here, in my Blog-post, I mean in this  personal Blog of mine, from the medieval times of South India.

I simply went bonkers over these hair-dressing styles of the Royals in medieval India. What an advanced race were our ancients & our medieval Indians !!! Ohhh, wonderful !!! But Alaaaas !!! everything is now in utter shambles under historical ruins !!!

Let's never forget the beautiful & glorious cultural-heritage of this great land, the immortal heritage of this glorious 'Bharatavarsha', I mean our dearest Motherland India, never, never, ever.
Bhaarath Maathaa Kee Jay !!!

Unfortunately I was unable to discover the names of the artists, the Great World-Wide-Web ( WWW ) being full of Copy-Cats of all kinds, like me. : ) I had a vague feeling that the artist is Kalki,s Vinu. But I didn't want to put the wrong name of the artist either, without being sure about it. That would have been total injustice to the real artist. But I MUST, MUST admit before the Whole-Wide-World ( WWW ), that the 'Images' were indeed great inspiration for me, to begin this Blogpost:) :) "
