This is our dearest, but sometimes not so dearest, and at times painfully dearest, Bangaramma, of our 'Terrace Garden Complex', in The Cyber-City & Garden-City Of Bangalore ) 🤣
Dearest Bangaramma |
Dearest Bangaramma |
My hobby once in a while, every now & then, in the early morning
hours of sacred Brahma Muhoortham, is to land up in Amma's place, wake
her up from her slumber, and offer a few Seva-Sushrusaas ( सेवा-सुश्रुषा ) to her Divine Self,
to cheer her up from her gloomy mood. 🤣
I brew a cup of piping hot tea for her, along with a piping hot filter
coffee for my own terribly thirsty self. Coffee for me at Amma's place
in the morning is a must, as otherwise she outrightly refuses to gulp
down the tea, offered to her, all alone greedily, to quench her morning
thirst.
And I also boil a Milton Flask, full of equally piping
hot water for my dear mom's whole day's consumption. Even in these
summers, she wants to keep away from cold water, however tempting be the
idea. Then I make Navadanya Kanjee & sometimes the terribly
repulsive Oats Kanjee for her breakfast and keep it aside carefully,
preserving the heat for her 8 o'clock consumption.
This is
followed by filling up a few kitchen containers, with fresh water from
the Water Purifier, installed in the kitchen, by her favourite, kid
daughter Vijee. This again is followed by the boiling of freshly home
deliverd morning milk, by the noisiest local Raju milkman, and other tit
bits of miscelleneous jobs, calling for my immediate attention. Most of
these miscelleneous jobs, which are plenty in the house, Amma's pet
kid, Vijee does. Besides, pet kid Vijayalakshmi Radhakrishnan is also Amma's Warren Buffet, Rakesh Jhunjhunwaala, on call any time of the day, and any time of the night. 🤣 🤣
Not that I do all these chores everyday for my mother dear. I keep
doing all these chores, every now & then, to show dear Bangaaramma (
her caretaker at night), that she shouldn't be disillusioned, that she
can take any harsh liberties with the old lady, thinking her to be all
alone in the house, which the old lady definitely is not, with four
hulky, bulky kids, to take care of her multidisciplinary requirements. 🤣
Bangaramma is a sweet thing, with utmost dedication, but a total NUT,
who goes raving bonker, every now & then as her most favourite
pastime. Besides, staying with old people, any day, anytime, will drive anyone
half mad, including the so called evolved Aatmaas of Planet Earth. And
as expected, dear Bangaaramma is no exception to this rule.
Bangaaramma was extremely fond of my father, during his earthly
existence, and she's been an employee of our Terrace Garden, since the
past 25 years of its existence. She couldn't bear to see my extremely
old father, carrying vegetables, fruits, and provisions, from the shops
near Terrace Garden Gate, and would immediately snatch the bags from his
old hands, to deliver the bags comfortably at his residence. Sometime, she even
used to hold dear Appa's hand, to give him some support, whenever she
found him weak, on his way back home, from the nearby HDFC bank, Big
Bazaar, Food World, and the rest. And Appa always cheered up the helpful
creature with some tips, from his antique shirt pockets.
This is
the reason, why dear Bangaaramma has become an important part of our
household, after Appa's departure to the other world, with all her NUTTY
behaviour, and dear Viji is reluctant most of the time, to throw her
out. And we do feel, it would be an immature, unwise decision.
Touch wood !!! The noisiest Bangaramma is unusually healthy, and has
only Raagee Modde for her two meals, morning & evening, prepared
only & only, by her daughter Lakshmi. She refuses to sip, even a few
drops of tea in the morning, which normally every human in the world
does. If Raagee Modde is unavailable, Bangaaramma goes on a fasting,
with Gandhi like Sathyaagraham.
Whole day, she enjoys the fresh
cool breeze outdoors, working in the apartment complex, cleaning the garden,
preparing organic manure for the plants, with our kitchen wastes, garden wastes, etc.
Shouldn't
all of us learn the beautiful art of living outdoors, with Mother
Nature, and enjoy sound health, with vim, vigour & vitality, like our
dear Bangaramma??? This is next to impossible, as for us, the so called intellectuals, Computers, TVs,
X-Box, Playstations, & ACs are far far far more important in life,
than the blissful outdoor activities.
Here is the picture of our
dearest Bangarramma, in her full form, busy cleaning the dry leaves, in
the garden of Terrace Garden, with perhaps an imported broom in her
hand. 🤣🤣
The Great Bangaramma of ours, herself looks like an imported piece,
from the transcendental world of Swarga Loka, Indra Loka, Brahma loka, Satya Loka, Tapoloka, Varuna Loka, Shiva Loka, Vaikuntha Loka, and last
but not the least, even Yama Loka. : )
Ancient Hinduism believes, in infinite numbers of 'Planes of Existence' (Lokas)', in the creation of 'All-Pervading Great God', all interwoven inside one another. The above mentioned Lokas, are some of these Planes, in the Cosmos (प्रपञ्चं / ब्रह्माण्डं ). The same Lokas are known as Parallel Universes, Multi Universes etc in the language of Modern Science. Different Planes are believed to be made up of vibrations of different frequencies, extending upto Infinity, the unreachable number, without a beginning, without an end. The Great Hinduism treats INFINITY, as the definition of God.
Now, let's come to Bangaaramma, where we started. For my mother, Bangaramma, is
indeed a TERROR. : ) But, my dearest mother, does require such a deadly
disciplinarian as a caretaker, in the silent, darkness of night, to keep
her gloomy SELF, alive & kicking, active and dynamic, brimming
with infinite life-force (The Great Prana of the Yogic Science of
Hinduism) 🤣🤣
Bangaramma will truly get merged with Brahma Loka, if I tell her, that I've given
her 'Wide Media Coverage', Globally. Poor thing, I really wish, she were literate.
She is very intelligent & street-smart, but unfortunately, became a widow very
early in life, with two tiny kids, two daughters. She stays now, with her two married daughters & her grandchildren, doing her best for them, in her own small ways.
Let me wish this self-made SOUL "All
The Very Best In Life", for her immense courage & independent spirit. And I wish, she becomes a role model to women like Amma, who have lived a very secure life, all through, and never knew what is INDEPENDENCE & what is CONFIDENCE.
So Long Mala
