Coffee, Coffee Everywhere !!! But We Don't Need Just Bland Coffee, We Need Flavour & Aroma As Well

"Coffee Day serves a better Latte' than the ITC Windsor (BLR). Also, double the volume at one third the cost.".....This was one of the tweets of my sonny Rohan on his Twitter page sometime in the remote past.
I am reluctant to visit any of these glamorous Coffee Bars these days, whether it's Cafe Coffee Day, Barrista, StarBucks or for that matter any of the yanky Bars in our country, in every street corner. Somebody should teach them how to brew a cup of good piping hot coffee, spreading aroma all around.

I am reluctant to visit any of these glamorous Coffee Bars these days, whether it's Cafe Coffee Day, Barrista, StarBucks or for that matter any of the yanky Bars in our country, in every street corner. Somebody should teach them how to brew a cup of good piping hot coffee, spreading aroma all around.
I am yet to find someone who can brew coffee like my paternal grandmother 'Mambakkam Patti' in her native village, Whenever I visited her during holidays in Mambakkam,
the freshly brewed coffe that she served was intoxicating. Even after
so many decades of her passing away, the heavenly aroma of Patti's
Coffee, made in a rural charcoal Kumuti, served in a huge heavy
sparkling bronze tumbler, still lingers in my bottomless subconscious
mind.
Even my maternal grandma Kumbakonam Lakshmi Patti's freshly brewed coffee, with the fresh cow's milk from her Goshaala in the backyard of her house in Kumbakonam & Pazhoor, was no less intoxicating.....All served, with utmost hospitality, in sparkling huge bronze glasses, which she herself used to clean for her guests. Equally yummy were the meals she served prepared in 'Kattai Aduppu' ( 'Desi Choolha' )....The meals were simply out of this world & unforgettable even after so many decades of her passing away.
Is there anything wrong with the coffee seeds & the tea leaves that we use these days? There is no flavour at all in our coffee, tea these days, however hard we try. Or is there anything wrong in our process of brewing?
The 'Kumbakonam Degree Coffee' no longer holds the same fascination & same temptation these days, that it had in 60's & 70's. Alas !!! Where have those days of irresistible aromatic coffee gone, without the least sign of existence today ???
These days, we have attractive designer cups to serve coffee & make it look attractive, but no coffeemakers to make the coffee taste attractive !!!
