 One of the stations in the Indian Armed Forces that created immense fear in my timid heart & nervous mind during our Armed Forces days, was the Panagarh region of West Bengal. 

Whenever our next posting season approached, & we had to make up our minds for the new destination, the very word Panagarh was a terror & nightmare for a coward like me. 

The place was heavily infested with deadly snakes, and the local Armed Forces Hospital had a very generous stock of   'Anti Snake Venom' for frequent snake bites of the local victims. These reptiles were abundantly found in every nook and corner of the house of the local residents, under the dining tables, underneath the cots, under sofa, in bathroom kitchen everywhere. You name the place & the corner of the house, & our dearest Nagaraja will bless you on the spot wholeheartedly  with his Divine Darshanam.

Panagarh is the easternmost suburb of Durgapur subdivision of West Bengal. Both the Indian Army and Air Force have their establishments here. Panagarh has a large Army Base & Air Force Base of Eastern Command. The local Airport is extensively used by Indian Air Force.

The area lies between two rivers ; the River Damodar and the River Ajay. The rivers flow almost parallel to each other in the region . 

For centuries the area was heavily forested and infested with plunderers and dacoits, & of course deadly snakes too. The discovery of coal led to industrialisation of the area, and most of the forests have been cleared since.

Vehicle Depot Panagarh and Ammunition Depot Panagarh, are among the largest Military suppliers in the country.

Randiha is a nearby beautiful lush green picnic spot, one should never miss, the Indian Armed Forces folks say.

Thank God, We are out of the Indian Armed Forces now, and Panagarh is just a holiday destination for us henceforth. We are out of the Indian Armed Forces permanently now, and I no longer have the fear of my husband Shekhar getting posted there anymore, The intense fear of encountering Nagas & Sarpaas, & consuming bottles & bottles of Anti Snake Venom, is totally gone now.

Gurudev Swami Sivananda Saraswathi of 'The Divine Life Society', Rishikesh says that there are extremely powerful Mantras in Hindu Scriptures, in Hindu Mantra Shastras, for deadly snake bites & scorpion stings, & for mastering these Mantras to show their full potency, he says, we should chant them on Solar & Lunar Eclipse days, for maximmum power & maximmum efficacy.

I don't disbelieve my dear Gurudev's words. Whatever he says, is Gospel Truth to me. And I don't arrogantly distrust what he emphatically says about the extraordinary powers of Sound Vibrations, about the incredible powers of sacred Mantras. 

Even in today's most modern times of miraculous advancement in the fields of science & technology, we see  various range of frequencies of Ultra-Sound being widely used, in modern Medical Science , for healing so many serious ailments.
